Yes. The desktop app counts keyboard and mouse events while a timer runs and shows an activity level for each tracked slot, alongside screenshots. What Colabio adds is context: AI task suggestions, app and URL classification, and written daily updates next to the numbers.

How does Colabio handle idle time?

When the tracker detects no input for a while, it shows a dialog when you return and lets you continue with the idle time removed or keep it. Nothing is deducted without you seeing it.

Both offer an MCP server. Hubstaff announced one for Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini in September 2026. Colabio's connector is read-only: none of its tools can create, change or delete data, and every answer is limited to what the signed-in person's role allows them to see.
